Pincombe to Participate in USYSA Nationals

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. -- UAB signee Erin Pincombe and her club team, the U18 AFC Lightning 92 White, will play for the United States Youth Soccer Association (USYSA) U18 Girls National Championship July 20-25 in Overland Park, Kan. AFC won the Region III title to advance to nationals against the winners of Regions I, II and IV.
AFC earned its first regional title after defeating the Sting 92, 2-1, on June 23. Just six weeks earlier, the Lightning won its first state title.
AFC is among four teams playing for the national title, including Eclipse Select 91/92, Laguna Hills Eclipse White and McLean MPS Dragons. Each team will play the other once, with the top two teams in pool play advancing to the finals at 7:30 a.m. on July 25.
