Blazers Defeat Arizona Twice Over Weekend

TUCSON, Ariz. -- The UAB synchronized swimming team earned a pair of wins this weekend on the road at Arizona.
UAB defeated the Wildcats by identical 97.0-76.5 scores on both Saturday and Sunday. Both days followed the same script in each event for UAB.
The Blazers' Margareta Jakovac, Meryl Grandia and Brittany McCauley combined to win the trio competition both days, while fellow teammates Georgia Luch, Jami Schwendau and Shaina Bowe teamed up to finish second.
In the duet, Grandia and Jakovac paired to take first place each day, while McCauley and Stephanie Cardwell teamed up to finish second.
The Blazers also took first in the team routine both days.
UAB is back in the pool for another competition next weekend. The Blazers travel to Gainesville, Fla., to take on Florida on Saturday.
