Women's Soccer Plays Non-Conference Finale At Vanderbilt Sunday

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - The UAB women's soccer team will play at Vanderbilt Sunday afternoon in the Blazers' final non-conference game of the season. The Blazers and the Commodores will kick-off at 2 p.m. CT at the Vanderbilt Soccer Complex in Nashville, Tenn.
UAB enters the game having won its last two outings to improve to 2-5 overall on the year. Vanderbilt has a 5-1-1 record entering the weekend, including most-recently a 2-2 tie at Saint Louis last Sunday.
The Blazers are paced by junior forward Danya Barsalona with a team-high five points on two goals and one assist. Freshman forward Tiffini Turpin has two goals on the season and freshman forward/midfielder Laura McCalla has added one goal to UAB's efforts.
Sophomore Kate Blankenship will be getting the nod in goal for the Blazers, holding a 2-3-0 record this season. She has 33 saves and has allowed just three goals on the year for UAB.
Vanderbilt is being led by Molly Kinsella and Candace West with five points each this season. Both have scored two goals and tallied an assist for the Commodores. Lindsay Ratterman is close behind with four points after nabbing a pair of goals.
Rachel Bachtel has played and started all seven games in the net for Vanderbilt, recording a 5-1-1 record this season. She has allowed seven goals and grabbed 23 saves for the Commodores.
