Blazers Fall Short Against Stanford

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - Several UAB synchronized swimmers had strong showings in the "A" elements and "B" figures events at Stanford on Sunday. Freshman Brittany McCauley placed fourth in the "B" figures, while senior Meryl Grandia finished sixth in the "A" elements. Freshman Mikayla Cansler won the "C" figures.
In the "A" elements, junior Margareta Jakovac was seventh and senior Frances Halloran was 11th. Freshman Talia Scatliff placed 12th, while freshman Shaina Boe was 13th.
In the "B" figures, freshman Michele Rushfeldt finished sixth and was followed by freshmen Jami Schwendau, Stephanie Cardwell and Georgia Luch who finished seventh, eighth and ninth, respectively.
The Blazers will next be in action on Saturday when they host Arizona inside the Bell Aquatics Center at 5:00 p.m.
