BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - The UAB synchronized swimming team kept its win streak going on Saturday, defeating Canisius 88-73 in a meet held at Bell Aquatics Center.Head coach Lisa Riddell's squad won every event they participated as they claimed the victory against visitor Canisius.
UAB got started by winning the duet portion of the meet, as the Blazers took the top two spots in the event. Morgan Clarke and Sara Petrov captured first place, putting in a scoring of 88.0000. The team of Frances Halloran and Hallie Todd swam to a second place finish, racking up a score of 86.833.
The trio proved to be more of the same, as UAB's team of Megan Kelly, Todd and Mariana Vigneron put on a show to win the event with a score of 83.833. Petrov and Maria Garcia gave the Blazers even further room to breathe, as both swam solid routines to place first and second in the solo portion of the meet. Petrov took home the win, posting a total of 89.167, just ahead of Garcia who placed second with a 85.167 score.
The meet concluded with the team routine, and UAB closed things out in fashion, winning the event in front of the home crow at Bell Aquatics Center. The team of Clarke, Halloran, Andrea Dash, Kelly, Petrov, Todd, Garcia and Vigneron put up a score of 91.000, their second highest mark of the season.
