Forbis Named to 2005 Elite Team of the Week by Soccerbuzz.com

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. --- UAB junior goalkeeper Katie Forbis was named to the 2005 Elite Team of the Week Wednesday as announced by Soccerbuzz.com. Forbis kept No. 7 Duke scoreless for 86 minutes and No. 1 North Carolina silent for 74 minutes at the Duke adidas Classic. Forbis, who had a combined 26 saves in two matches, set a new individual school record with 16 saves Sunday against UNC.
"It's exciting to see Katie honored as a member of the Soccer Buzz Team of the Week," said UAB head coach Paul Harbin. "To be among the top 11 performers in college soccer this past weekend is quite an accomplishment."
Her notable performances against UNC and No. 7 Duke earned her the Conference USA Defensive Player of the Week award and a place on the Duke Adidas Classic All-Tournament Team. This season, Forbis has recorded 55 saves and has a .833 saves percentage over seven games.
