BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - If UAB men's basketball fans cannot make the trip to Memphis to see the 2005 Kelly Tires Conference USA Tournament, they will not have to miss the Blazers' games in the league's postseason tournament. Thursday's quarterfinals contest for UAB is slated to air on Comcast/Charter Sports Southeast (CSS) and each of the Blazers' subsequent potential tournament games are scheduled to air live in the Birmingham market.
The first two games of Wednesday's quarterfinals will air on ESPN2. Those match ups include No. 8 seed TCU against No. 9 Marquette (noon CT) and No. 5 DePaul against No. 12 seed Tulane (2:30 p.m. CT). CSS will carry the No. 7 Memphis vs. No. 10 Saint Louis (6 p.m. CT) and the No. 6 Houston against No. 11 USF (8:30 p.m. CT) first round games Wednesday as well.
UAB's quarterfinals match up with the DePaul/Tulane winner will air at 2:30 p.m. CT on Thursday on CSS. Should the Blazers move on to the semifinals, their game will air on ESPN at 3:30 p.m. CT Friday, if they face top-seeded Louisville or are the highest of the four seeds remaining. Should Louisville lose in Thursday's quarterfinals and either No. 2 seed Charlotte or No. 3 seed Cincinnati remain in the semifinal round, UAB's semifinal would move to 6 p.m. CT Friday and air on CSS. Saturday's championship game will air at 10:35 a.m. CT on CBS.
UAB is the No. 4 seed in the Kelly Tires Conference USA Tournament for the second straight year. This year's tournament will be played in the FedExForum in Memphis.
