Synchronized Swimming Places Fourth at Collegiate Championships

GAINESVILLE, Fla. - The UAB synchronized swimming team recorded a fourth-place finish at the 29th Annual U.S. Synchronized Swimming Collegiate Championships held at the O'Connell Center on the campus of the University of Florida last weekend. The Blazers tallied a final score of 63.
Ohio State was aiming for a sixth-consecutive title, but Stanford was able to overtake the Buckeyes and capture the championship, keeping its undefeated season alive.
The Blazers captured a fourth-place finish in the team finals behind Stanford and two Ohio State squads, recording a score of 97.000. Sara Petrov's score of 93.400 was good for fourth place in the solo event finals, while Petrov and Morgan Clarke's duet routine placed them fourth.
Petrov also competed in the A elements and fnished fifth with a score of 79.64. Frances Halloran and Andrea Dash each swam in the B figures for UAB. Halloran placed fifth and Dash finished seventh. Stephanie Jackson, Stacey Jackson and Megan Kelly also competed in the trio event finals and notched a sixth-place finish with a mark of 89.80.
UAB will now prepare for the U.S. Nationals to be held in Federal Way, Washington from April 28-30.
