PROVIDENCE, R.I. --- The UAB women's tennis was defeated, 7-0, by Brown University here on Sunday afternoon. The Blazers failed to tally a win in doubles or singles action.
"I'm disappointed with today's match," said UAB head coach Mert Ertunga. "Brown is a good team, but I felt like we could have played better. I thought we underachieved today, especially in singles."
The Blazers (4-9, 1-2) lost the doubles point after the Bears won at the No. 1 and No. 2 positions. UAB's Femke de Boer and Marrit Jansma fell to Brown's Kerry Meath and Victoria Beck, 9-8 (7-3), in the No. 1 spot. In the No. 2 tilt, the Bears' Alex Arlak and Michelle Paulter were 8-4 winners over UAB's Annemieke Elsholz and Julia von Samson.
