BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - The UAB synchronized swimming team will open its season Saturday as the Blazers are set to host the University of Florida in dual meet at Bell Aquatics Center at 2 p.m.

The Blazers are coming off a strong 2002-03 campaign as the team placed third for the second consecutive season at the U.S. Collegiate Championships and posted its highest finish to date at the U.S. National Championships, garnering a fourth-place team finish.

Admission to the meet is free.

Senior Meryl Grandia helped lead the Blazers to a fifth-place finish at the U.S. Collegiate Championships.
