Men's Basketball Travels To DePaul

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. ----- The UAB men's basketball team is set to travel to Chicago, Ill., to take on Conference USA rival DePaul Blue Demons on Saturday, Jan. 17, at 11 a.m. The game will be televised locally on ESPN Regional.
The game between the Blazers (9-4, 2-0) and Blue Demons (8-6, 1-2) will mark the 28th meeting in series history. The Blue Demons own a 16-11 advantage in the all-time series; however, the Blazers have won four straight games in the rivalry.
UAB is coming off a 64-42 win over the Houston Cougars last Saturday. The 42 points allowed was the lowest point total given up by the Blazers since Jan. 6, 1986.
UAB is led by senior forward Gabe Kennedy, who leads the team in points (12.6), rebounds (5.3) and FG percentage (.573). Ronell Taylor (11.7 ppg) and Mo Finley (11.0 ppg) also average in double figures. Carldell Johnson leads the team in assists (3.2/game), while Donell Taylor leads the team with 2.0 steals.
DePaul captured its first C-USA win of the season on Tuesday as the Blue Demons earned an 82-73 win over Memphis. DePaul is led by C-USA's leading scorer Delonte Holland, who averages 20.3 ppg and a team-high 1.7 steals per game. Freshman guard Sammy Mejia leads the team with 3.7 assists, while Quemont Greer leads the team with 7.1 rebounds a game.
