Jana Brauer and Jill Knottek shared the Most Improved Player award. Brauer, a sophomore midfielder, played in 19 games, starting two of them. She had one goal and two assists for the season. Knottek ended the season as UAB's leading scorer with 11 goals. In addition, she had six assists and 28 points on the year. Knottek also ended the season ranked in C-USA in many categories, finishing tied for 3rd in points, 3rd in goals and tied for 6th in assists.
The Most Valuable Player award was split by sophomores Tara Kidwell and Jenny Rynders. Kidwell was the second-leading scorer for the Blazers last fall, but led the team in points with 29. Kidwell scored 10 goals to go along with her nine assists. Rynders started all 19 games for the Blazers, scoring nine goals and four assists. She was named to the Soccer America Team of the Week and was the Conference USA Women's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week for the week of September 18.
