Synchronized Swimming Team Wins Florida State Tri-Meet

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - The UAB synchronized swimming team won the Florida State Tri-Meet, sweeping all four events and posting an overall score of 90.
UAB took the top three spots in the duet event with senior Bogdana Zareva and junior Amanda Haeuser taking first place with a score of 84.750. Sophomores Stacey and Stephanie Jackson were second with a score of 83.000 and juniors Stacy Leiker and Kara Morgan finished third, scoring an 80.250.
The Blazers held the top two spots in the trio event, topped by Stacey Jackson, Stephanie Jackson and Leiker with a score of 81.750. Morgan, senior Kelli Dickerson and freshman Megan Kelly took second with a score of 79.750.
Zareva took first place in the solo event, scoring an 87.500.
Seniors Luna Aguilu, Hannah Freer, Kristen Kramer, Moraine Ruddick and Sarah Pikal, along with Dickerson, Stacey Jackson, Stephanie Jackson and Kelly also took first place in the team event, scoring an 84.000.
The University of Florida placed second at the meet with an overall score of 51 and Florida State took third with a score of 10.
UAB will host its own tri-meet Saturday at 2 p.m. at Bell Aquatics Center. The Blazers will face defending national champion Ohio State and Georgia.
