Blazer Men's Basketball Signs Gabe Kennedy

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. -- - UAB men's basketball coach Mike Anderson has announced the signing of forward Gabe Kennedy of Bevill State Community College to a national letter of Intent.
Kennedy, a 6-foot-9, 235-pound forward, averaged 15.8 points and 12 rebounds in 18 games for Bevill State's Sumiton Campus team. He played his high school ball at Wilcox Central High School in Camden.
"I'm excited about this signing," Anderson said. "He gives us the inside player we really need. I think he makes this an outstanding recruiting class."
This brings to four the total number of players signed by the Blazers this year. UAB signed 6-7 forward DeMario Eddins of Wenchendon Prep School in Massachusetts and 6-4 guard Richard Jones of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, during the spring period. Derrick Broom, a 6-5 wing player, signed with the school in the early signing period in November.
