Softball Falls To DePaul In Semi-finals

TAMPA - No. 1 DePaul defeated No. 3 UAB, 10-1 at the C-USA Softball Tournament on Friday at the USF Softball Complex.
Sarah Martz led DePaul offensively, going 3-for-4 with one triple. Jenny Doezie also posted her first home run of the season, while Saskia Roberson notched her eighth double of the year.
UAB came out strong in the first inning when Cliffanie Engram reached first on a fielder's choice. She would score on a double from Beth Mullins. It was the first earned run that DePaul's Lindsay Chouinard had given up in 81 innings, a C-USA record.
In the circle, Chouinard earned the win, while UAB's Megan Stephenson, who gave up four earned runs and struck out one, dropped to 15-11 on the season.
No. 3 UAB falls to 38-21 on the season and will play the winner of the Louisville/Southern Miss game at 11 a.m. on Saturday.
