Briana McCarty Earns Soccer Buzz National Freshman All-America

Freshman UAB women's soccer player Briana McCarty was named to the Soccer Buzz National Freshman All-America Second Team, announced earlier this week.
The Lawrenceville, Ga. native was earlier named to the Soccer Buzz Central Region Second Team and All-Freshman Team. McCarty led the Blazers with nine assists this season and currently ranks ninth on the all-time UAB career assits list. She is on pace to take over the no. 1 spot set by Monica Bagley (1996-99) with 25. McCarty ranked second in overall assists in Conference USA with nine and conference games with eight. She was named Second-Team All-Conference USA and All-Freshman team. McCarty's is the first UAB player to be honored on the regional and national freshman team.
