UAB's basketball team will hold its second exhibition game Tuesday night as the Blazers play the EA Sports traveling team at 7:30 in Bartow Arena.
The Blazers beat Global Sports 76-61 in their first exhibition game, this past Friday. In that game UAB shot 51 percent from the floor, 54 percent in the second half. The Blazers were also 11-of-22 from three-point range.
P.J. Arnold scored 18 points, hitting 8-of-12 shots from the field. Eric Batchelor added 16 points, Myron Ransom scored 13 and freshman Jeffrey Collins added 12. All of Collins' points came on three-pointers as he made all four of his attempts.
?I saw some good things,? Blazer head coach Murry Bartow said. ?We've got a few more options on the offensive end this year, and I think that showed tonight. We had a better flow to the game on offense.?
New point guard Eric Bush was a big reason for the better offensive performance with five assists. Tony Johnson also had five assists and did not commit a turnover.
Bush, along with Mo Finley are starting in the backcourt with Arnold, Ransom and Will Campbell along the front line.
This is the final exhibition before the real play begins. UAB plays Eastern Michigan in the Paradise Jam Tournament in St. Thomas, Virgin Island, Nov. 17.
