Dylan Oda

Dylan Oda joined the UAB athletic staff as Athletic Performance Coach in August 2023
Prior to joining UAB, Dylan spent the 2022-23 season with the University of Utah football sports performance program as a paid intern. He helped Utes win the 2022 PAC-12 championship and made an appearance at the Rose Bowl.
Before working with the Utes, Dylan Spent the winter and spring of 2022 with the University of Hawaii’s strength and conditioning department as an intern. He assisted with football, baseball, women’s track and field, and women’s soccer while he was there.
From 2020 to 2022 Dylan was also a high school strength coach at Kamehameha Schools Kapalama in Hawaii. He helped to establish the school’s renewed strength and conditioning program to meet the LTAD model according to the NSCA’s standards. While he was there the main teams that he worked with were baseball, softball, football, girls basketball, girls and boys volleyball, and cheer while assisting with many other sports as well as a strength and conditioning class.
In 2018 he spent two years as a sensory motor coach at Brain Balance Achievement Centers in Oregon where he worked with children with special needs. He helped to implement specific specialized exercise programs for children with cognitive disorders, learning disabilities, behavior disorders, and processing disorders.
Dylan graduated in 2017 with a BA in exercise and sports science from Concordia University in Portland, OR. He has a CSCS certification from the NSCA, FMS level 1 certified, and has a USAW level 1 certification.
