Blazers Head to Charlotte for American Conference Championships

BIRMINGHAM - UAB Cross Country begins its postseason run on Saturday as it travels to Concord, NC for the American Conference Cross Country Championships at Frank Liske Park. The women's 6k race is slated to begin at 10 a.m. ET/9 a.m. CT.
THE LAST TIME OUT
The Blazers finished 11th of 22 teams at the Crimson Classic in Tuscaloosa. Lidia Longo was UAB's top finisher coming in 44th place with a time of 21:13. Sangie Lincoln-Velez (54th) and Lia Castillo (60th) rounded out the top-60 for the Blazers. UAB was the second place American Conference team finishing behind Tulane who placed second overall as a team.
THE FIELD
All 13 American Conference teams will be racing on Saturday.
THIS TIME LAST YEAR
UAB finished ninth of 13 teams last year at the American Conference Cross Country Championship in Wichita. The Green and Gold look to continue their upward trend this season as they return everyone from last year's team.
