Blazers Head to Huntsville for Season Finale

BIRMINGHAM - UAB Cross Country heads to Huntsville to compete in the NCAA South Regional Championship at John Hunt Park for the final meet of the season on Friday morning. The women's 6k race is slated to begin at 8:30 a.m.
THE LAST TIME OUT
The Blazers registered their best finish at the American Conference Cross Country Championships since joining The American ahead of the 2023 season. Five athletes contributed to the sixth place team finish by individually finishing in the top 55 of the meet. Katie Keur led the way for the Green and Gold finishing in 39th place with a time of 21:50. Right behind her was Sangie Lincoln-Velez who placed 40th with a time of 21:51. Lidia Longo (47th) and Kenlie Nelson (49th) held the third and fourth spots for UAB. Lia Castillo rounded out the scoring for the Blazers with a time of 22:19, placing 54th.
THE FIELD
36 women's teams will meet in the 6k race on Friday morning along with UAB. Among the teams competing include Alabama, Chattanooga, Florida, Florida Atlantic, Florida State, Georgia, Georgia Tech, Jacksonville State, Mississippi State, North Florida, Ole Miss, Tennessee, UCF, and Vanderbilt.
