Danii Fernandez is entering her first season as a member of the UAB softball coaching staff.
Head coach Amanda Ellis announced Jan. 6, 2018 that Fernandez would be joining the staff as a volunteer assistant coach and would be working with the infielders.
Fernandez finished her UAB career with a .238 batting average, 29 RBI, 60 runs scored and 114 hits. She was a force in the field during her career finishing with a .951 fielding percentage and posted a career high 121 assists in her senior season.
The Loxahatchee, Fla. native was named to the C-USA All-Freshman team in 2014. She graduated from UAB in 2017 with a degree in psychology. Fernandez attended Seminole Ridge High School where she was a Max Preps All-American, First Team All-State and was named All-County and All-Conference.
