Blazers Open American Conference Play Against North Texas, Time Changed

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - UAB Softball gets to play American Conference softball earlier than expected, now facing North Texas at 3 p.m., on Friday for the conference opener. Due to forecasted rain in Birmingham, the Blazers and Mean Green will play at 3 p.m. instead of the scheduled 5:30 p.m. first pitch. The rest of the series is currently to be played as scheduled, but is subject to change.
UAB (11-10, 0-0 AMER) is coming off a successful weekend in Columbia, S.C., at the Garnet & Black Invitational, going 4-1 against Queens, Marist, and South Carolina. The Blazers then lost at home on Wednesday, 6-1, to #17/#12 Mississippi State. UAB now looks for its first win against North Texas under Head Coach Taylor Smartt.
