BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - UAB Softball fell to 0-7 to start conference with a 3-1 home loss to Charlotte. Olivia Cummings and Charlotte's Taylor Jones each flew through their respective lineups with only 143 pitches thrown in seven complete innings.
Charlotte opened the scoring with a first-and-third double steal to score the runner from third. UAB tied the game in the bottom half of the inning on an errant throw by Charlotte. Jenna Lord blasted a two-run homer deep to left field to take the lead for good.
UAB finished the game with four three-up-three-down innings.
