Dorsett Named American Conference Honorable Mention

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - Junior shortstop Hannah Dorsett was named an American Conference Honorable Mention following an 11-for-22 week at Alabama and the Garnet & Black Invitational. Dorsett recorded a hit in all six games, the only Blazer to tally a hit against both #7/#5 Alabama and #22/#19 South Carolina. She doubled against South Carolina to set up Charlee Bennett's two-run double against the Gamecocks. Dorsett slashed .500/.522/.545 and had five putouts and eight assists for the week.
Dorsett's standout game was her four-hit performance against Queens on Saturday, becoming the first Blazer to do so this season. Dorsett led the Blazers with 11 hits and six runs on the week. Dorsett also had four RBI and two stolen bases throughout the week.
Dorsett and the Blazers will welcome #19/#12 Mississippi State to Mary Bowers Field at 5 p.m. on Wednesday, March 4. UAB will then open up American play against North Texas, hosting the Mean Green from Friday through Sunday.
