Shockers Walk-Off Blazers in Comeback

WICHITA, Kan. - UAB Softball lost its series opener at Wichita State, 6-5, as the Shockers came back in the seventh inning to walk off the Blazers. UAB jumped ahead 4-0 early in the game but gave up four runs in the third inning. AJ Kramer hit her second home run of the season, doing so in back-to-back games, to retake the lead. Wichita State led off the seventh inning with a game-tying home run, followed by a walk-off single to take the game.

Antonia Henderson had a pair of doubles in her first start of conference play. Henderson went 2-for-3 with a walk and an RBI in her first-career multi-extra-base hit game.

The loss marks the first time UAB has lost in a non-run rule walk-off this season.

Kramer is the first UAB player to homer in back-to-back games this season.
Henderson recorded her first multi-extra-base hit game with a pair of doubles.
