- UAB dropped its fourth straight home game, this time to USF 82-69. The Blazers have started conference play 3-0 on the road and 0-4 at home.
- UTSA is coming off a home loss to Temple, 70-64 and is yet to win its first conference victory of the season. The Roadrunners have not won since Nov. 25 (def. Georgia Southern 77-64).
- UAB leads the series 14-5. UAB and UTSA have been in the same conference as one another since 2013, playing in the CUSA from 2013-2023 and joining the American in 2023.
- UAB won the first meeting between the teams 78-65 in the teams' first season as conference mates in 2013.
