- UAB beat East Carolina in the Blazers second overtime game of the season 87-85. UAB had two 20+ scorers for the first time since Nov. 24 against Southern Illinois in Jacob Meyer (29) and KyeRon Lindsay-Martin (20).
- UAB has won both of their overtime games this year with the first coming at South Florida on Jan. 4.
- Tulane has won their last five games, including a 3-0 start to conference play.
- The Green Wave beat UTSA 85-52 on Saturday with 19 made three-point shots. Tulane's largest lead was 38.
- UAB leads the series 27-14. From 1995-2014 both teams competed in Conference USA.
- UAB won the first ever matchup in 1992, 75-69.

- Andy Kennedy won his 400th game as a head coach against UNC Asheville. He is the 15th fastest active Division I coach to win 400 games, in just 623 attempts.
