Men’s Basketball Continues Road Success; Beats Tulane 82-69

NEW ORLEANS - The UAB Men's Basketball team (12-6, 3-2 American) beat Tulane (12-5, 3-1 American) 82-69 for the Green Waves first conference loss of the season. KyeRon Lindsay-Martin led the team with 19 points, while Rivera (17) and Meyer (14) also scored in double figures.
Tulane was led by 16 points from Rowan Brumbaugh and Asher Woods who both had 16. Scott Middleton led the game with six blocks.

- The Blazers picked up a +15-rebounding differential through the first half of the game. UAB finished the game +18 in the rebounding margin (45-27). This is the first time in five games that UAB has won the rebounding battle.
- Lindsay-Martin scored 19 points and 12 rebounds for his 6th career double-double.
- The two teams were a combined 3-for-17 from behind the arc in the first half.
- Tulane five game win streak comes to an end. The Green Wave last lost on Dec. 13 against UC San Diego.
- Tulane made three of their last 15 shots the last 10 minutes of play.
- UAB made 17-of-18 free throws form their best free throw percentage all season (94%).
- UAB shot 46% from the field (30-for-65), 38% from three (5-for-13), and 94% from the free-throw line (17-for-18).
- Evan Chatman scored the first points of the night from the charity stripe [2-0].
- Chatman made the first field goal of the game as well, at the 17:09 mark [4-0].
- Jacob Meyer got an offensive rebound and kept possession for the Blazers, before shooting a 20-foot jumper [10-8].
- Chatman grabbed three rebounds through the first ten minutes of play.
- Tulane took their first lead of the night with 10:14 to go in the half [15-16].
- A 7-0 Tulane run ended at the free throw line by Salim London. The Blazers were in the bonus the rest of the way, after a turnover and foul by Tulane [17-19].
- Rivera scored five points in a UAB 7-2 run to take the lead back [24-21].
- A UAB 7-1 run closed the half out and extended the Blazers lead to 10 points [38-29].
- Tulane stormed out of halftime with a 13-0 run over a 2:23 span [42-46]. Dayjaun Anderson stopped the bleeding with a three-point shot [45-46].
- Tulane took the lead once again on a three-point shot by Brumbaugh [53-54].
- As the shot clock expired, Salim London threw a three up that banked off the glass and went in. This out UAB back in front [56-54].
- Jacob Meyer hit a huge three to give UAB a seven-point lead with 5:53 to play [64-57].
- A late 6-0 run put UAB ahead by 11 points with 3:58 to play [70-59].
- UAB never looked back and eventually got out to a 16-point lead. This was the largest lead of the game [82-66].
- Final score: UAB 82, Tulane 69
- UAB is back at home on Sunday, Jan. 17 against Tulsa. Tipoff is set for 2:00 p.m. CT on ESPN+.
