BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The UAB men's soccer team (1-5-2) will host Missouri State (3-2-2) on Saturday night at 7:00 p.m. at PNC Field.
Despite outshooting Memphis, UAB lost 3-2 at home in their second conference game of the season. UAB has out shot their last three opponents and zero points to show for it.
Last week, Missouri State dropped a conference game at FIU 1-0. The Bears won their first conference game 4-0 over Temple.
American Weekly Honors
Sept. 19
Ole Jessen received the Defensive Player of the Week Honors playing in all 180 minutes on the week, scoring two goals from his outside back position. Humphrey Doh grabbed American Conference honorable mention for his three assists against USC Upstate.
Scouting the Bears
The Bears are led by eight goals and two assists from senior Fumiya Shiraishi. Missouri State has allowed just six goals all season and is 34th in the country in team goals against average (.857). The Bears are 12th in the country in fouls per game with 8.57. The Bears opened up conference play with a win against Temple before dropping their second conference game to FIU. This is the first year Missouri State has participated in the American Conference after years of membership with Conference USA.

UAB leads the series 2-1-1 with the last match coming in 2017 (0-0). UAB last won in 2014 by a score of 3-1.
