- Saturday marks the sixth meeting between UAB and Tennessee, with all the games coming in Knoxville. The Vols have won every contest with two games being decided by one score.
- Two high-powered offenses will be on display in Rocky Top as Tennessee ranks sixth nationally in total offense (568.7) while UAB is 40th (451.7). The Blazers have had over 400 yards of offense in every game this season, with a season-high 520 coming in the opener against Alabama State.
- Leading both offenses are a pair of talented quarterbacks in UAB's Jalen Kitna and Tennessee's Joey Aguilar. Kitna is completing 70.7 percent of his passes for 892 yards, six touchdowns and two interceptions. His average of 297.3 passing yards per game ranks him 13th nationally.
- Aguilar, the App State transfer, averages 302.0 passing yards per game (11th nationally) and is coming off a game against Georgia in which he threw for 371 yards, four touchdowns and two interceptions.
- UAB's passing efforts will be key to the Blazers' success as Tennessee has the nation's 107th ranked pass defense, allowing 248.3 yards per game.
- Corri Milliner looks to extend his receiving touchdown streak to six straight games at Tennessee. Dating back to last season, Milliner has a touchdown grab in five straight and is averaging 96.8 yards per game during that stretch, which includes two 100-yard performances. He and Iverson Hooks are UAB's leading receivers with 17 and 16 catches, respectively.
- Solomon Beebe is the reigning American Conference Special Teams Player of the Week following an explosive game against Akron. Beebe had a career-high 190 all-purpose yards and 154 kickoff returns, including a 96-yard touchdown return to open the game. His kickoff return for a touchdown was UAB's first since 2019.
- Beebe is doing it all for the Blazers as he ranks second nationally in both all-purpose yards (496) and kickoff return yards (303) entering Week 4.
- Jevon Jackson is the team's leading rusher at 92.3 yards per game and has scored a touchdown in every game this year (three rushing, one receiving).
- UAB's defense is coming off a performance against Akron in which they tallied season highs in sacks (5), tackles for loss (8) and pass breakups (8). The Blazers enter the contest allowing 472.7 yards per game and will be challenged against one of the best offenses in the nation.
