Blazers Travel to No. 9 Memphis

BIRMINGHAM – UAB women's soccer faces its first conference road test at No. 9 Memphis on Thursday, Sept. 18. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. CT and will air live on ESPN+.
SERIES HISTORY
The Tigers lead the all-time series 17-9-2 with the last match taking place in Birmingham on Sept. 19, 2024. The match ended in a 0-0 draw.
LAST TIME OUT FOR THE BLAZERS
The Blazers battled Samford to a 0-0 draw last Sunday to close out non-conference play. The Bulldogs outshot UAB 10-4 in the first half, but UAB responded in the second with 13 shots compared to Samford's six.
SCOUTING THE TIGERS
Memphis defeated Charlotte 1-0 to open conference play. Taliah Brooks scored the lone goal for the Tigers which was her third goal of the year. Ellis Kelly leads Memphis this season with five goals while Ai Kitagawa follows behind with four.
GOAL SCORERS
The Blazers have had 11 different goal scorers this season combining for 17 goals.
The Blazers top three goal scores from last season have all returned. Abbey Burns who led the team with seven goals, Jette Zimmer scored four and Sydney Bolinger who had two. Other players that are back on this year's squad that scored one goal are Maia Sirota, Mia Leath, Lola Sommer and Abby Graeser. In total, UAB has 16 letterwinners returning for the season.
