UAB Women’s Tennis Travels to Blue Gray National Tennis Classic

BIRMINGHAM – UAB women's tennis will travel to Montgomery, Alabama for the 77th annual Blue Gray National Tennis Classic.
Four Blazers will be repping UAB which include freshman Emma Ascanio, sophomore Kristyna Damaskova, junior Klara Kajabova and sophomore Nera Tesankic. Damaskova led the Blazers with a 16-4 singles record last season, while Tesankic was 12-8 and Klara was 8-8 in singles.
Teams joining UAB in the tournament include Auburn (8), Georgia Tech (29), Iowa State (65), Jacksonville State, LSU (11), Mississippi State and Ole Miss (34).
The format of the weekend will feature two draws, with each school sending four players paired off in two groups. Each pair competes together beginning with doubles before transitioning into two singles matches against the same opponent team.
Damaskova and Kajabova are teamed up together and face Georgia Tech's Alejandra Cruz and Scarlett Nicholson. Tesankic and Ascanio take on LSU's Indi Patel and Auburn's Natalie Outcalt.
