Mike and Gillian Goodrich Contribute to Bartow Arena Renovation Project

BIRMINGHAM - The UAB Department of Athletics has announced that Mike and Gillian Goodrich have committed a leadership gift in support of the Bartow Arena renovation project.
"We are delighted to partner with UAB on this transformational project to enhance the experience for UAB students, prospective students, and the community at large," Mike Goodrich said. "My wife Gillian and I believe UAB is the driving catalyst for our city and state, and a modernized Bartow Arena will create such a positive impression for UAB and Birmingham for years to come."
Mike and Gillian Goodrich have a deep connection with UAB and have spent much of their lives in Birmingham helping the region grow and prosper. Mike had a successful career with the engineering and construction firm BE&K, Inc., and held the position of Chairman and CEO. Gillian has devoted much of her time to the nonprofit sector as a community volunteer and head of a corporate giving program. Long-time supporters of UAB Athletics, the Goodrich family are proud members of the Champion Club and season ticket holders for football and men's basketball.
"We are so grateful to Mike and Gillian for their continued generosity towards this transformational project," said Director of Athletics Mark Ingram. "The Goodrich family was instrumental in the return of UAB Football, Bowling and Rifle, the UAB Football Operations Center, and share in our belief that the Bartow Arena renovation will be a transformational project for the community they both love."
The $14.6 million Bartow Arena renovation project is intended to feature four main components:

- Entrance lobby expansion
- Club-level lounge and club-level seating for enhanced viewing experience
- Replacement of lower bowl retractable seating to elevate fan experience
- Concourse improvements including lighting and updated restrooms
