CARROLLTON, GA – The UAB Softball team (20-26) heads to Carrollton, Georgia to face West Georgia (12-31) in their first season of Division I athletics.
LAST TIME OUT
UAB was swept for the second time all season at the hands of North Texas last weekend. North Texas is currently in third in the AAC standings. West Georgia beat Queens (NC) two out of three games to win their first ever conference series in the ASUN.
IN BETWEEN THE LINES
UAB are currently in seventh place, two games behind East Carolina who is in sixth. The Blazers have moved up to 132nd in the NCAA RPI rankings, starting the season at 178th.
West Georgia entered its first season as members of Division I Softball this spring. They are currently 12-31 on the season winning three out of their last five games. Common opponents between UAB and UWG only include Troy, where The Wolves lost both games. UAB beat Troy 9-8 in a high scoring affair a few weeks ago.
MILESTONES
Hannah Miles got her 100th career hit at North Texas this weekend. Lindsey Smith moved into second all-time in UAB history for career doubles (40). Bella Wiggins is one triple away from having the most triples all time in a career at UAB with 14.
