Recapping the Weekend in Atlanta and Winston-Salem

BIRMINGHAM - UAB Track & Field returned to split squad action this weekend as they competed in the Georgia Tech Invitational and the Wake Forest Invitational in Winston-Salem, N.C.
WAKE FOREST (FRIDAY ONLY)
Lidia Longo competed in the 3000m Steeplechase where she finished with a time of 10:55.85.
Regina Harris ran the 800m for the Blazers as she just missed her season-best with a time of 2:13.42.
GEORGIA TECH
The rest of the Green and Gold competed over the span of two days in Atlanta.
Kat Duren ran in the 100m Hurdles and finished with a time of 14.12, finishing 18th of 72 runners. This time was Duren's season-best.
Birthe Franck-Petersen competed in the Shot Put and progressed with each throw. She finished with a mark of 13.74m.
Noelle Hambrick and Victoria Freeland represented the Green and Gold in the Pole Vault. Hambrick tied her Outdoor PR with a mark of 3.70, missing her overall PR by .02m. Freeland finished at 3.55m.
Gabby Washington made her season debut in the 100m. Washington finished in 12.01 seconds and placed 20th out of 84 runners. Destiny Roper ran her best 100m time of the season clocking in at 12.15 seconds.
Sangie Lincoln-Velez clocked her PR in the 1500m for the second consecutive week. The junior finished at 4:32.54.
Hope Foster marked her Outdoor season-best in the High Jump finishing at 1.66m. The mark ties her overall PR.
Jasmine Dereje placed 8th out of 48 runners in the 400m Hurdles. The sophomore finished with a time of 59.54.
Lincoln-Velez's second PR of the weekend came in the 800m where she finished with a time of 2:13.36.
The Green and Gold return to action on May 1 and 2 in Starkville, Mississippi as they compete in the Maroon and White Invite hosted by Mississippi State. Meet schedules and information will be posted at a later date.
