Blazers Add DePaul Transfer Meyer

BIRMINGHAM – UAB men's basketball head coach Andy Kennedy announced the addition of DePaul transfer Jacob Meyer on Thursday.
"Excited to have Jacob join our program." Kennedy said, "He adds much needed experience and production to our backcourt next season. His playmaking ability will be an asset to Blazer basketball."
Meyer averaged 8.9 points and 2.6 rebounds per game while appearing in 33 games and making 16 starts for the Blue Demons. He finished in double figures in 18 games while reaching his season-high of 23 points in games against Southern Indiana and Wichita State.
The Covington, Ky. native began his career at Coastal Carolina where he averaged 15.7 points, 5.1 rebounds and 2.6 assists per game as a freshman while starting all 31 games. Meyer shot 40.2 percent from three with the Chanticleers while ranking fifth nationally among freshmen in points per game.
He scored a career high 32 points in a win over ULM in the Sun Belt Tournament during the 2023-24 season. Meyer finished in double figures in 28 of his 31 games during his freshman season while adding six games of 20+ points.
Meyer is one of the most prolific scorers in Kentucky high school basketball history, scoring 3,280 points at Holy Cross while averaging 38.2 points during his senior year and 36.8 points during his junior season. He earned all-state recognition during each season while scoring 40 or more points 30 times over his career.
Meyer is the Blazers' first transfer portal signee ahead of the 2025-26 season, joining JUCO signees Evan Chatman and Dayjaun Anderson along with high school signees Salim London and Lance Carr.
