BIRMINGHAM - UAB Baseball (19-18, 4-8) is set to host East Carolina (22-16, 7-5) this weekend at Young Memorial Field. The series is slated to take place Thursday through Saturday.

THE LAST TIME OUT
The Blazers fell on Tuesday night to 15th ranked Alabama in Tuscaloosa by a score of 5-3. Despite the loss, the Green and Gold outhit the Crimson Tide.
East Carolina got the best of the Blazers by taking all three games last season in Greenville as the two teams met for the first time since the 2013 season which is also the last time the two teams played in Birmingham.
SCOUTING THE PIRATES
Preseason American Conference Champion East Carolina comes to Birmingham 4-6 in its last 10 games. The Pirates are 8-7 away from home this season. ECU is led by freshman infielder Braden Burress who is slashing .405/.515/.514 this season in 37 games played. Sophomore southpaw Ethan Norby takes the ball for the Pirates on Thursday as he leads the team in innings pitched and strikeouts. Norby is the brother of Marlins infielder Connor Norby. ECU is coached by 11th year head coach Cliff Godwin who is 419-203 in his tenure in Greenville.

East Carolina leads the overall series, 27-4. ECU also leads the series in Birmingham, 11-4.
