Lendeborg Named Karl Malone Power Forward of the Year Award Finalist

BIRMINGHAM – Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame announced the five finalists for the 2025 Karl Malone Award and UAB forward Yaxel Lendeborg was named among the five finalists.
Lendeborg has averaged 17.3 points, 10.7 rebounds and 4.2 assists during his senior season at UAB while shooting 55.1 percent from the field. He has tied his own record for single-season double doubles (19) and set a UAB program record for most double-doubles in a career (38) in only two seasons.
He has scored 20 or more points in 12 games this season while reaching double figures in 26 of his 29 appearances.
The Pennsauken, N.J. native became the first Blazer in program history to grab at least 300 rebounds in a season multiple times. He ranks in the top 10 in program history in career rebounds, rebounding average and career blocks.
