UAB Men’s Golf Readies for Action at Schenkel Invitational

BIRMINGHAM – The UAB men's golf team returns to action this Friday-Sunday, March 21-23, at the Schenkel Invitational hosted by Georgia Southern at Forest Heights Country Club in Statesboro, Ga.
In the country's ninth longest running Division I golf tournament, this is the 45th annual Schenkel Invitational and the Blazers have been staples in this event.
This year's field consists of 14 teams which includes Army, Campbell, Florida, Georgia Southern, Indiana, Kentucky, Maryland, Middle Tennessee, Notre Dame, UAB, Utah, West Virginia, Wisconsin and Yale.
The course is par 72 that plays 7,123 yards. UAB will be paired with Maryland and Indiana in the first round and will tee off at 9 a.m. ET/8 a.m. CT.
The Blazers top five consists of Morgan Slaton, Paul Bruce, Jonathan Ericsson, Bernhard Koster and John Bruce. UAB is coming off a seventh-place finish at the Palmetto Invitational and currently owns an overall record of 46-44-4.
