BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Coming off one of its most successful seasons in recent history, UAB men's golf head coach Charlie Hoyle announced the Blazers' 2026-27 schedule Friday, featuring four fall tournaments and six spring regular-season events before postseason competition begins in April.
UAB enters the new campaign looking to build on a 2025-26 season that saw the Blazers earn their highest national ranking since 2021-22 and post an 82-45-1 head-to-head record. The Blazers registered their most top-three tournament finishes since 2015-16 and placed fifth at the American Conference Championship, their best finish since joining the league.
The season culminated with Erik Olin earning an individual berth in the NCAA Athens Regional, becoming UAB's first NCAA Regional participant since 2022. Olin, an All-American Conference selection, finished the season with a 70.6 scoring average, the third-lowest single-season mark in program history.
"We took some really positive steps as a program last season, and our goal is to continue building on that momentum," Hoyle said. "This schedule gives our guys the opportunity to compete against some of the best programs in the country on outstanding golf courses. We have a good mix of familiar events and new challenges, and I think it will test us throughout the year and prepare us well for the American Conference Championship and postseason play."
The Blazers open the season at home Sept. 20-22 with the GMAC Invitational. Admission to the three-day event is free, and all spectators are welcome to attend and follow the Blazers throughout the tournament.
Following its home opener, UAB travels to the Bryan Bros Collegiate, hosted by South Carolina, on Sept. 28-29 before heading to the Moraine Intercollegiate, hosted by Miami (Ohio), on Oct. 12-13.
UAB concludes its fall schedule Oct. 16-18 at the Golf Club of Georgia Collegiate, hosted by Georgia Tech in Alpharetta, Georgia. The event annually attracts one of the nation's strongest collegiate fields and is played at the Golf Club of Georgia, the home course of the Yellow Jackets.
After the winter break, the Blazers open the spring Feb. 7-9 at the Compadres Collegiate, hosted by UTRGV. The event is played at Playa Paraiso Golf Club in Playa del Carmen, Mexico.
UAB returns closer to home Feb. 15-16 for the Hal Williams Collegiate, hosted by South Alabama, before beginning a busy March with the Cleveland Golf Palmetto Intercollegiate, hosted by USC Aiken, on March 8-9.
The Blazers travel to Auburn for the Tiger Invitational on March 15-16 before heading to Statesboro, Georgia, for the Schenkel Invitational, hosted by Georgia Southern, on March 19-21. One of the longest-running events in college golf, the Schenkel will hold its 47th playing in 2027 at Forest Heights Country Club.
UAB concludes the regular season April 12-13 at the Mossy Oak Collegiate, hosted by Mississippi State in West Point, Mississippi.
Postseason play begins April 25-27 with the American Conference Championship. NCAA Regional competition is scheduled for May 17-19 at sites to be announced, with the NCAA Championship set for May 28-June 2.
