Men’s Golf Places 14th at Schenkel Invitational

BIRMINGHAM – The UAB men's golf team placed 14th overall at the 45th Schenkel Invitational hosted by Georgia Southern this past weekend at Forest Heights Country Club.
Senior Paul Bruce led the charge by tying for 27th place overall at +1. His tournament was highlighted by an opening round 68 (-4), which had him in second place after day one.
Freshman Bernhard Koster also had a decent showing by placing 44th overall at +5. Following an opening round 78 (+6), Koster played great down the stretch with a one-under 71 in the second round and shooting even par (72) in the third.
The Blazers return to action on April 7-8 at the Old Corkscrew Intercollegiate hosted by Florida Gulf Coast in Fort Myers, Florida. That tournament is the final tune up for the Blazers before the AAC Championship which is scheduled for April 21-23 in Sarasota.
