Women’s Tennis Travels to North Alabama

BIRMINGHAM – The UAB women's tennis (2-2) travels to North Alabama (2-1) on Tuesday, February 4. First Serve is set for 1 p.m. CT.
The Blazers fell at Mississippi State 4-1 on Sunday. The Bulldogs were able to secure the doubles points on Court 2 and 3. Gresi Bajri and Vanessa Mellynchuk were up 5-4 on their opponent but the doubles point was secured by State before they could finish their match.
Mellynchuk was the first to secure a singles point and was the only Blazer to earn a singles win. Mississippi State then claimed three singles wins to earn the 4-1 victory.
Mellynchuk is also off to a strong start this season with a 3-1 record in singles play, winning each of her last three matches.
UAB has picked up wins over Presbyterian and Alabama State.
