BIRMINGHAM – UAB women's soccer (5-5-6, 2-3-3) controlled much of the match Thursday night at PNC Field but couldn't find the back of the net, falling 1-0 to Temple (4-13-0, 1-7-0).

The Owls capitalized on their lone shot on goal in the 24^th minute when Ariana Gronauer scored her fourth of the season off assists from Valentina Bitterwolf and Shari Atkins.

From there, the Blazers dominated statistically, outshooting Temple 12-3 and earning 15 corner kicks to the Owls' one. UAB also held 71% of possession, spending most of the night in Temple's half.

However, Owls goalkeeper Tamsin Bynoe had seven saves to preserve the clean sheet. UAB's Leah Parsons was largely untested, finishing without a save as Temple's defense held firm under constant pressure.

Abbey Burns led the Blazers with three shots on goal, while Avery Berryman, Lailah Stewart, Rebecca Sierra and Lauren Lucero each added one. UAB earned nine corners in the first half alone and continued to attack after halftime but couldn't break through.

A yellow card to Caitlin Keeling in the 60^th minute was UAB's only booking of the night.

Up next, the Blazers host South Florida on Sunday, October 26 for senior day. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m. CT.
