Yaxel Lendeborg led the team in rebounding last season with 10.6 per game. He has grabbed 15 or more rebounds in 12 games as a Blazer, including a 21-rebound game vs. Florida Atlantic which ranks second in program history.
GET TO THE LINE
The Blazers were one of the best teams in the country at getting to the charity stripe in 2023-24, finishing eighth in the country in free throws made per game at 17.8. This year, the Blazers are again getting to the free throw line at a high rate. UAB is 61st in the nation with 15.9 free throws made per game and 51st in the country at 75.7 percent from the charity stripe.
SMOOTH LIKE "BUTTA"
One of the few homegrown players on the UAB roster that did not transfer in from another school, Efrem "Butta" Johnson had a breakout year in 2023-24. Johnson upped his scoring average from 3.5 points per game during his freshman season to 11.2 as a sophomore while taking a much larger role. He hit a team-high 56 three-point field goals while shooting at a .359 clip in 2023-24. After a slow start to the season, Johnson had a breakout game against High Point where he matched his career high of 21 points and hit five three-pointers. He then put together another career performance with 21 points at No. 24 Memphis while hitting five threes.
BIG MONDAY WHITE OUT VS. NORTH TEXAS
The Blazers will be back in action for a white out at Bartow Arena on Monday night against North Texas at 8 p.m. CT for a Big Monday game on ESPN2.
