8/15/2024 11:24:00 PM | Women's Soccer
BIRMINGHAM – Abby Graeser's goal in the 82nd minute was all the offense UAB needed in its 1-0 victory over ETSU in the 2024 season opener at PNC Field on Thursday night.
The goal began with a penalty kick from Maia Sirota, with the Bucs goalkeeper Ashton Blair having a save. From Blair's save the ball bounced off the top of the post and fell right in line for Graeser to head the ball in for a goal.
The goal marks the first goal of Graeser's career.
Abby Burns, Maiya Clark and Lola Summer led all UAB players with two shots. Goalkeeper Anika Toth had four saves on the night.
Each team evened it out in shots, with both teams having 12.
Up next, the Blazers travel to Louisville, Kentucky to take on the Louisville on Sunday, August 18. Kickoff is set for 6:30 p.m. CT.
