Baseball Drops Game Three Against Memphis

BIRMINGHAM - The UAB baseball team lost a heart breaker to Memphis Sunday afternoon. The Tigers won 3-2 after taking the lead in the 8th inning.
For the first time in three games neither team scored in the first three innings. There were two total hits through three innings. Memphis got on the board first with one run in the 4th inning. Jacob Compton hit a solo home run to right field.
Nick Hollifled hit a two out double to get on base in the 5th. Brayton Brown drove in his 43rd RBI of the year when he hit a single to score Hollifield. Memphis struck back in the 8th inning when the Tigers got bases loaded with no outs. Daunte Stuart and Jacob Compton drove in two runs on a couple of singles to right field. The Tigers led 3-2 after 8 innings.
UAB had one last shot in the 9th inning. Logan Braunschweig and Nick Hollifield walked to get runners on 1st and 2nd. Peyton Puckett stepped up with two outs and hit a hard line drive but Memphis's center fielder made a diving catch for the last out.
UAB left 13 players on base, hitting the ball seven times.
