UAB Baseball to Play Back-to-Back Midweek Games

BIRMINGHAM - The UAB baseball team will play back to back midweek games starting Tuesday. The first game will be a short road trip to Montgomery to face Alabama State, and the second will be a home game against UT Martin on Wednesday.
Series History vs Alabama State
The Blazers lead the series with 19 wins and only four losses. The last time the two played was in 2023 where UAB lost 6-5 on an unearned run in the 7th inning.
The Alabama State Hornets compete in the Southwestern Athletic Conference, where they have won the last two regular season championships and a tournament championship in 2022. Alabama State has started off the 2024 campaign with a 6-5 record including a series sweep over UMES.
Series History vs UT Martin
UAB has played UT Martin eight times and has won all eight of them. The last time the two teams faced each other was in 2014, where the Blazers swept the series against the Skyhawks.
UT Martin has started 2024 with five wins and seven losses. Most recently, the Skyhawks lost two out of three against Middle Tennessee. UT Martin competes in the Ohio Valley Conference where they finished 4th last year with a 14-10 conference record.
UAB Baseball
UAB has moved to 5-6 on the year after winning two straight to North Alabama. The Blazers will look to shut down the bats of both Alabama State and UT Martin after giving up eight or more runs in four straight games. Jake Smallwood had the hot bat this week, hitting 7 for 15 with seven RBIs and a game tying home run in the 9th inning of game one vs UNA.
First pitch will be at 6:30 PM, Tuesday night against Alabama State.
The second midweek game will be played Wednesday night vs UT Martin at 2:00 PM.

Tickets are $7 and you can purchase them by clicking here. Free parking is available behind the outfield of the Softball Stadium. You are at risk of a parking ticket unless you are parked in the outfield of Mary Bowers Field (softball stadium).
