Moss Named Large College Assistant Coach of the Year by AlaBCA

BIRMINGHAM – UAB assistant coach and recruiting coordinator Brad Moss has won the 2026 Assistant Coach of the Year award by the Alabama Baseball Coaches Association (AlaBCA), the organization announced Friday. AlaBCA distributed awards to top head coaches and assistant coaches in all divisions in the state of Alabama. This is Moss' first career honor from the organization.
In the 2026 season, Moss helped orchestrate one of the best offenses in school history, setting school records in home runs (85), times hit by pitch (89), and bases on balls (297). Additionally, UAB had six players with 10+ stolen bases and five players with 60+ hits, with both totals leading The American. The Blazers also totaled 436 runs which ranked 4th-most in program history. The Green and Gold also reached the 100-stolen base threshold for the fourth time ever (100).

Moss joined the UAB staff ahead of the 2024 season and has spent time as the first base coach since his arrival on the Southside. The 2026 freshmen class was the highest ranked recruiting class for UAB Baseball since 2022 (Perfect Game).
