Baseball Looks to Continue Winning Ways in Midweek Game Against Troy

BIRMINGHAM - The UAB baseball team is set to host another midweek game this time against Troy.
Troy University comes into a Tuesday afternoon midweek with a 14-7 record. The Trojans have series wins over SIUE, Harvard, Indiana, and ULM. Skyler Meade leads Troy in his 3rd season with the Trojans. The Trojans have five batters hitting over .300 including Ethan Kavanagh who leads the team with a .397 batting average. Luke Lyon leads the Troy pitching staff with 29.0 innings pitched and 25 strikeouts. UAB and Troy have played 33 times with UAB winning 20 of those times. Most Recently Troy won an 8-7 contest in 2023.
UAB comes off of a series sweep vs Lindenwood where the Blazers scored 20 runs. UAB is now 10-9 on the year and looking to get one more win before conference play starts this weekend. The Blazers will start conference play agaisnt Wichita State this Friday-Sunday.

Brayton Brown and Darryl Buggs have started all 19 games for UAB. Brown helped UAB win game two vs Lindenwood because of his two home runs and four RBIs. Brown is hitting .293 with five home runs and 18 RBIs. Buggs leads the team in hits (22) and doubles (6), while also stealing the second most bases (8).

First pitch is set for 4 p.m. Tuesday afternoon.
