Baseball Heads to Florence, Alabama to Face UNA

BIRMINGHAM - The UAB baseball team has lost three straight games dating back to Saturday. The Blazers will look to get back in the win column by traveling to Florence, Alabama for the first ever match up between UAB and The University of North Alabama.
The UAB pitching rotation will be Blayze Berry (Sr. RHP) on Friday, Colin Patterson (So. RHP) on Saturday, and Colin Daniel (Fr. RHP) on Sunday. Berry and Daniel will make their 3rd starts this season, having already started two games. The freshman Colin Patterson has made three appearances in relief for the Blazers.
UAB has scored 54 runs compared to 44 from their opponents. Coach Dunn and staff will look to minimize those runs against and continue the good hitting trend that the team has created. The Blazers are scoring almost seven runs a game.
UNA Notes
The University of North Alabama recently made the jump from Division II to Division I in 2019. The Lions joined the Atlantic Sun Conference in 2019 and have been with them ever since. UNA finished last season with a 14-37 record winning eight conference games. The Lions are led by Kyle Machado who is hitting .286 with two bombs and seven RBIs. On the mound for North Alabama Jacob James leads all Lions with 11 innings pitched. In those 11 innings James has secured a stat line of 17 SO, 6 BB, 2 R, and 2 ER.
The UNA pitching rotation will be Jacob James (Sr. LHP) on Friday, Jacob Bradshaw (Sr. RHP) on Saturday, and Kevin Henrich (So. RHP) on Sunday.
